What is this step about?

This step will help you discover the techniques available for successfully replying to an ad and increasing your chances to be invited for an interview.

What is its purpose?

While it is the most obvious avenue used to get an interview, answering an ad placed by a company / organization doesn't offer very good odds for most people.

Dozens, hundreds and sometimes thousands of other people have the exact same idea as you... at the same time, reducing your chances substantially. It becomes necessary to learn how to convince employers that you are different and unique enough to be considered for an interview, without revealing too much, too soon.

What happens if I fail to do it?

• You may disclose too much and be screened out on the basis of your application.
• You may not disclose enough and be screened out on the basis of your application.
• You may have "gaps" in your past that will generate difficult or embarrassing questions.
• You may choose inappropriate illustrations / examples from your past which don't convince a recruiter of your value (or scare them off completely).
